What is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a procedure that stimulates collagen production and retextures the skin by improving surface concerns such as pore size, acne scars, fine lines, laxity and more. It utilizes a specialized tool with dozens of tiny needles to penetrate the skin and cause controlled trauma. This, in turn, triggers the body’s natural healing process which increases production of collagen and elastin, and lightly resurfaces the skin. The result is brighter, tighter and more youthful looking skin!

Why We Love It
Why Radiance Rx?
Our providers have years of training and experience in microneedling, and they see your safety as their highest priority. The microneedling cartridges we use have silver needles to avoid a reaction for those with nickel allergies, plus they’re sterile and single use, assuring cleanliness during your treatment. Our team will make sure you’re comfortable through the procedure, and you’ll leave with full knowledge and confidence in aftercare instructions, leaving no room for guessing.

What to Expect
To prepare you for your microneedling treatment, a numbing cream is applied 30 – 45 minutes in advance. Once your skin feels numb, the cream will be removed and the microneedling pen will be used to deliver treatment. Your provider will work section by section across the treatment area and check on your comfort level multiple times, adjusting depth as needed according to your tolerance and your skin’s needs.
After your treatment, you’ll feel like you have a light sunburn and your skin will be slightly red or pink for a few hours. In the days to follow, most people experience some light flaking or peeling. It’s important to avoid picking at the skin during this time, and to just allow the skin to regenerate naturally. Your skin will look brighter, smoother, and more rejuvenated as your skin continues through the healing process.

FAQs
Does microneedling hurt?
While this procedure does involve the use of needles, they are very small and the treatment area is numbed forehand to make the process more comfortable. Most of our patients find microneedling to be easy to tolerate.
When will I see results?
You will start to notice microneedling results about 2 weeks post-procedure with full results being delivered at about 6 weeks after treatment as collagen takes time to generate. Expect results to be subtle but impactful as skin texture and tone is improved.
What’s the downtime for microneedling treatments?
You’ll be able to resume most day-to-day activities almost right away, so downtime from that standpoint is very limited. Because some patients experience peeling, which typically lasts 3-7 days, we recommend allowing 1-2 weeks for your skin to fully heal before any major social events.
How often should I get this service?
An initial series of 3 treatments is ideal for getting the most out of your treatments when you start. From there, quarterly or semi-annual treatments are recommended for maintenance.
Can I wear makeup after my treatment?
You can wear make-up starting the day after your microneedling session, but we recommend keeping your face make-up free immediately after treatment.
What should I do to prepare for my treatment?
We ask that patients discontinue active ingredients (retinols, acids, exfoliants, etc.) for about 3 days prior to treatment, and we recommend you avoid the sun for about a week in advance.
What should I do and expect post-treatment?
Your skin will be red and slightly swollen for about 24-48 hours post microneedling. You may experience some flaking/peeling. This does not indicate the efficacy of treatment as some patients’ skin is more preconditioned and will not have much shed.
Can I get microneedling treatments while pregnant?
You cannot get microneedling while pregnant or breastfeeding because it is not recommended to use numbing cream under those circumstances and we do not perform microneedling treatments without numbing to ease discomfort.
